What Is a Teacher?
Many people on the physical plane speak of their spirit guides and guardian angels; someone watching over them whose presence they have felt. These terms are a somewhat broad and general reference. In the Universal Understanding of the God Consciousness, we have a more definitive hierarchy of entities from the astral realms that can assist you in your spiritual growth: chief among them the Soul Teacher, the Light Teacher, and the Angel of Light. The guardian angels people speak of have their place as well, and we shall come to them.
We often refer to these entities simply as teachers. So, what is a teacher? A teacher is simply someone who inspires the wisdom that you already possess. Because your soul is infinitely intelligent, and being so, it only needs to be inspired to bring forth that wisdom. However, a teacher is not God. A teacher does not know everything there is to know, and a teacher is still learning. The more one teaches, the more one learns, and that is as true in the Realms of Immensity as it is in a classroom on the physical plane.
These teachers have names, they have histories, and they have walked the physical plane themselves, some very long ago. They have their own growth to attend to, their own studies, their own teachers above them. They are not standing by your side every hour of every day.
There is a further aspect to understand. Your teacher does not know your every thought. Your soul reveals what the teacher needs to know. What a teacher then works to impress upon your exterior consciousness is the desire of your soul, put into a form you are able to understand by the conscious mind.
It is not a teacher’s responsibility to tell you what to do. A teacher inspires you and tries to show you the possibilities. They will point you toward what might be the proper course, and then it’s up to you to decide. Free agency is the means by which the soul’s wisdom is expressed. The choosing is what shows the exterior consciousness is allowing that wisdom to come through.
The Soul Teacher
Of all the individuals working with you, the most important is your Soul Teacher. To understand where this individual came from, you must go back to the beginning of your own existence, to the moment the one became two. When you were spewed forth from the Core of Life and the alpha and the omega divided from a single consciousness in the Zimare, a like vibration gravitated back to those two individuals. That vibration is your Soul Teacher. This is an individual who has been with you, for all practical purposes, since the beginning of time.
Consider what that actually means. Not one incarnation. Every incarnation you have ever taken, from the first, along with every sojourn in the astral in between, and every significant challenge you met in either place. Your Soul Teacher was there for lives you cannot remember and will be there for incarnations yet to come and beyond.
But go back further than your own beginning and a harder question waits. If every Soul Teacher was once a soul who unfolded far enough to become one, then who taught the first of them? The collective consciousness of all things was the first Soul Teacher. That collective consciousness is the Godhead, and so the Godhead was the first teacher in thought. The actualization of that thought is the individual process of expressing that wisdom. Which means that when your Soul Teacher inspires you towards something, you are at the receiving end of a line that runs back without a break to the singular consciousness of all things.
The work of your Soul Teacher is the unfoldment of the consciousness of your soul throughout all incarnations and beyond: to build a connection between the mind of the soul and the mortal exterior. The Soul Teacher also brings into your conscious mind an awareness of the unseen worlds about you, and does not concern themselves with your mundane affairs. However, if a decision of the mundane world would truly alter your thinking and turn you off your path, the Soul Teacher will step in and direct you to another path. Otherwise, the material world is yours to manage with assistance from your Light Teacher. Your Soul Teacher is also the head of the entire group of teachers working with you.
A Soul Teacher may hail from anywhere in the astral kingdom and may be an alpha soul or an omega soul. Yours may be within the First Realm of Immensity or from beyond the Seventh. Where that Teacher stands depends upon their own evolutionary consciousness and upon yours.
The Light Teacher
Your Light Teacher is with you for one incarnation only, and may likewise be an alpha soul or an omega soul. He or she comes to you in the Reincarnational Plane, roughly six months before you incarnate, examining what you intend to accomplish and the karmic conditions you carry. The Light Teacher does not make your decisions, but oversees and suggests, exactly as your Soul Teacher does.
Your Light Teacher is concerned with your mundane affairs. But how could a teacher preoccupied with rent and employment and the ordinary difficulties of living be advancing anyone spiritually? The answer is that an individual distracted with whether the money will arrive and whether the trip should be taken has little attention left for things of a spiritual nature. Also, the mundane is where your karmic conditions can present themselves. So your Light Teacher aids you in your material or mundane karmas so that it frees your Soul Teacher to help you focus on your spiritual growth.
And there is one other aspect of the Light Teacher that needs to be addressed. Until you have unfolded far enough for the connection with your Soul Teacher to be made, your Light Teacher takes on the role of your Soul Teacher, taking what your soul brings forth and interpreting it for you in a form you can grow upon. This is why the Light Teacher is so often the first to make contact with you when you have a spiritual awakening.
The Angels of Light
The Angels of Light are an omega organization in the astral, which is to say its members are of the feminine aspect. The responsibility of your Angel of Light is to help you with your emotional needs, things such as relationships and friendships. Every individual has one, and you have only to call upon her.
She arrives at the hour of emotional difficulty. When your emotions rise to a point where you are struggling to carry them, it is the Angel of Light’s responsibility to steady you and to point you toward the direction that is right. She meets you as a friend rather than as an authority. These are troubles that are personal and more related to your mundane existence; concerns not to be the focus of either your Light Teacher or your Soul Teacher.
The presence of your Angel of Light is governed by need. She may come once and never return, or she may stay for years. What draws her is empathy. She has been through what you are going through. That kinship to your particular difficulty is the qualification. Once the trouble that drew her has cleared, she is free to go on to other things.
Guardian Angels
On the physical plane, people speak of a guardian angel, and the picture attached to the phrase is wings and a halo and a figure of great holiness hovering above your shoulder. Yet angelic means only that an individual is willing to serve, willing to help you bring your vibration to a point. Nothing more mystical than that is intended by the word.
In the astral there is an order of individuals who serve as the masculine counterpart to the Angels of Light. They are drawn to those whose vibratory state is such that the Soul Teacher or the Light Teacher cannot yet reach them, and in this situation, one of this order will draw near. They are known as the Guardian Angels.
This order is not what most people mean by the phrase. Some believe their guardian angel is their Soul Teacher, and that is not so; the two are separate, with separate responsibilities. But the common belief is not an error either. A child told that a guardian angel watches over them has been given a true impression, because there is indeed guidance near them, and the child understands what is real: they are not alone, and someone is there.
How the Teachers Reach You
How, then, does any of this reach you? Rarely as a voice. The teachers work in thought. A teacher inspires and the revelation is yours, which is to say the teacher inspires the wisdom your soul already possesses, so that you bring it forth yourself. When a thought comes that is truly a magnification of the mind of the soul, and you set it aside or fail to act upon it, it will be impressed upon your consciousness again. A thought that returns and will not leave you alone is very often a teacher at work.
The second way you have used every night of your life without knowing it. You spend roughly a third of your existence upon the physical plane in the sleep state, and that third is not lost time. While the physical form regenerates itself, the consciousness of the soul leaves it and goes into the astral planes, and there you study. There are temples in the astral and there are great halls of learning, and your teachers are with you in them. Most people bring back no memory of any of it. The work is done regardless, and it surfaces later as a certainty you cannot quite account for, or as an understanding that arrived while you slept.
You may ask to go. Before you sleep at night, you can send out the thought asking your soul to take you to the halls of higher learning, and you can ask your soul to inspire you to remember what you learned while you were there.
The third way is meditation, and it is the one over which you have the most direct control. Meditation quiets the brain, which manufactures thought without ceasing, so that the mind of the soul can be heard. So meditate upon your question, allow the answer to reveal itself, and decide if that answer rose from the soul or from the mortal ego. The decision and the discernment are yours.
There is a world of individuals standing just outside of you, waiting to help, if only you open the door. A teacher is one who shall inspire you, who shall bring about that wisdom of your soul. So open the door and use their guidance wisely, for it is within that guidance that the flowers within you shall blossom.
