The Process of Individualization

In the article, The Dual Nature of the Human Condition, we discussed the dual nature of humanity, the qualities of the soul consciousness versus the mortal consciousness, and why it is important to surrender to the soul consciousness. In this article, we will explore the greater purpose of life: the role and responsibility of the individual within the God Consciousness, and the reason the soul granted free agency to the mortal consciousness.

To begin, let us look more deeply at this dual nature itself, for within it lies the seeds of individualization. The consciousness of the soul and the mortal consciousness are two opposing desires within the same being, the higher drawn to spiritual illumination, and the lower drawn to the material world. It is the soul, through these contrasting directions, that endeavors to experience and unfold its expression, bringing us to this point in our development.

The soul has placed itself on the Wheel of Life, and from that Wheel of Life it incarnates. But it is through the exterior understanding of that expression of the mind of the soul which hinders or progresses the unfoldment of that soul. It’s almost a catch-22. The soul desires to express an infinite number of experiences and to unfold its own wisdom, yet it must do so through a vehicle to which it has granted free agency to ignore the higher consciousness.  But there’s a good reason why the soul has done that.

To understand why the soul chose such a paradoxical method of growth, we must trace its origin back to a realm of consciousness known as the Core of Life. Within the Core of Life, all souls moved as one. There was no separation, no individuality, only the pure harmony of the oneness of a group mind. Every thought, every perception, every act of awareness was shared by all.

The next evolutionary step in creation was individualization: for the singular consciousness to spew forth from the Core of Life into countless individual souls. To be clear, the one did not become the many. Rather, the many that moved as one emerged from the Core of Life as individuals, each with free will and the ability to choose. This is the process of individualization: each individual soul expressing, in its own fashion and in its own development, the wisdom from its own experiences.

The purpose of individualization is for each individual to experience all experiences. Although we each walk different roads, the lessons are the same, and all roads lead to God. So, the soul placing itself upon the Wheel of Life and incarnating unto the physical is going through that process of individualization to bring us back to the point of collective experience.

In the process of individualization, each soul demonstrates wisdom through the action of discernment. For it is only when the exterior consciousness freely chooses the greater action that the wisdom of the soul can unfold over the exterior consciousness. Each soul experiences every experience, yet with free agency, makes its own choices within those experiences. Through this process, the collective God Consciousness becomes broader and greater, and each soul is further refined as it moves toward union with the God Consciousness.

As we become more self-aware, we begin to see the effect that the decisions of our individuality make on others. Our universe within the self has an effect on every other universe within the individualizing souls we encounter. For each of us is that embodiment and carries with us the consciousness of God that brings about the cause of the effect on another embodiment of God.

The process of individualization will continue until the very last soul has finished incarnating and has become a Pillar of Light.  A Pillar of Light is a fully realized, individualized soul.  Becoming a Pillar of Light offers a new level of experience, yet we do not know exactly what will happen. Even so, there remain many experiences and levels of understanding we must pass through before becoming a Pillar of Light.

Finally, the process of individualization is not about self-centered growth, but about giving to others without expectation. It is through selfless service that we approach true mastery, for in giving, we receive what we need most. Mastery arises when the individual recognizes itself as both creator and creation, as we are the sum total of all of our creations. Every cause we set in motion sends a ripple through the God Consciousness, touching every other soul. Through wisdom born of experience, we come to understand that every act of creation is manifested by the mind of the soul for the benefit of all souls in their collective evolution through the process of individualization.

Go in light and grow in peace.
