Our experiences of today are the result of the choices we made yesterday, and the choices we make today will shape our tomorrow. Each of us is the master of our own destiny, and our choices determine how we get there. Consequently, our choices must be made with a great deal of discernment.
Discernment is the ability to take our knowledge and our understanding of past experiences and apply that insight to our current situation, thereby guiding us toward the best possible decision. The key to making wise and mindful decisions is discernment in choice. Wisdom is the outcome of applying that discernment in pure and positive thought.
Wisdom provides us with sight, clarity of purpose, and the ability to see our course more clearly. However, this clarity can only be maintained when our emotions are controlled.
Making decisions while in an emotional state is like driving in a thick fog; it is difficult to see where you are going, so you need to slow down, pull over, and wait for the fog to clear. If you feel your emotions are getting the best of you, do not make any important decisions. Be still. Wait for the fog to lift and allow clarity to return so you can see the road ahead.
Choose with foresight and with a positive purpose. Be mindful, be deliberate, and choose wisely. As you begin shaping your future, you also reshape your past, for today is the yesterday of our tomorrow.
Go in light and grow in peace.
