Be Mindful

Our experiences of today are the result of the choices we made yesterday, and the choices we make today will shape our tomorrow. Each of us are the masters of our own destiny, and our choices determine how we get there. Consequently, our choices must be made with a great deal of discernment.

Discernment is the ability to take our knowledge and the understanding of our past experiences and apply that insight to our current situation, thus ensuring the best decision possible. The key to making wise and mindful decisions is discernment of choice. Wisdom is the outcome of applying that discernment of choice in a pure and positive thought.

Wisdom provides us with sight, clarity of purpose and the ability to see our recourse more clearly. However this clarity can only be maintained when our emotions are controlled.

Making decisions while in an emotional state is like driving in a thick fog…it’s difficult to see where you’re going, so you need to slow down, pull over and wait for the fog to clear. If you feel your emotions are getting the best of you, don’t make any important decisions. Be still. Wait for the fog to lift and to regain the clarity so you can see the road ahead.

Choose with foresight, and with a positive purpose. Be mindful, be deliberate, and choose wisely. As you start shaping your future, you will also start changing your past, for today is the yesterday of our tomorrow.

Go in light and grow in peace.

An Introduction

The Universal Understanding of the God Consciousness is a spiritual philosophy emphasizing self-awareness, mindful decision making and self-accountability in shaping our own destinies. The very core of this philosophy is Agape, or unconditional love and acceptance of not just others, but your own self.

In the Universal Understanding of the God Consciousness, the “universal understanding” includes all religions and philosophies in an effort to establish and accept the validity of all positive beliefs that exist within societies around the world. As long as an individual believes and accepts the Golden Rule of “do unto others as would you have them do unto you,” we’re all functioning in a universal understanding of the goodness of humanity, that we love and care about one another, and that we wish for the well-being of all people.

The bedrock of this philosophy is simple: Create your life in the ‘consciousness’ of what you believe to be the highest good, and strive to bring about this good in yourself and others. Those individuals who seek a spiritual path, they desire to grow and better themselves. It is important to recognize those experiences that bring about a positive change in you, without negatively affecting another. Perhaps most importantly, it is for you to choose, only for yourself, what is right, and allow others to make these choices for themselves. In essence, what is right for you is what brings about a positive change in you and does not negatively affect another. What is right for the other person is for the other person to decide.

The Agasha Temple is a philosophy, not a religion. There are no dogmas and no established patterns dictating your expression. It remains your choice if you choose to pray once a day or several times a day. You may choose to meditate, practice yoga or sing. Perhaps you attend a synagogue, a mosque or a church. Your choices are yours, and all the different religions and philosophies can help you in your growth. Listen to your soul, and decide which approach resonates with you the most. There are many paths to enlightenment, and each one of us chooses a path we will walk upon…ultimately the lessons are the same, and it is the lessons that make us more alike than we could ever be different.
